A few more words before we begin.

We are now down to the final days before beginning the 2009 bible reading. As we begin, there are a couple of things for us to keep in mind.

In addition to a wide range of ages, the participants of this blog represent the entire range of biblical experience from beginner to seasoned study leaders. Accordingly, this blog isn’t just for the seasoned leaders. This blog is for all of you, beginner and seasoned alike, and that is why you have all been given authoring privileges . The sole purpose of this blog is not just to simply read through the bible in a year, but to also learn from what we read, and form bonds with fellow believers. If you have a question, ask it. If you have an insight about a passage, share it with us. If a particular passage speaks to you, post about it.

Another aspect of this blog is to help with accountability in our reading. While that is all well and good, it is easy to stop visiting a website or blog site. The best accountability and encouragement comes from another person. In addition to coming to the blog, I would recommend that we team up with at least one person to encourage and to be encouraged by them in return. There are several people that are teamed up already and are ready to go. If you need someone to team up with, or would like to offer to be a teammate, please post a comment here.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, please share them!

Very exciting Brian. Great comment. I see Scott C and Jake on a daily basis so will look to encourage them, and ask them to do likewise with me. It's easy to get started out of the gate fast, but this is a marathon not a sprint. The goal is to read and develop a relationship with our Master through His written Word. Yes, this is a task, but use it to develop and/or maintain a discipline in the Word. God bless us all on this journey. I look forward to your insights.
